Bedrin Family: Secrets of Success
June 19, 2019If throwing darts is a bit too tame for your interests, look no further than Bad Axe Throwing.
With more than 20 locations across the U.S. and Canada, the ax throwing club is slated to open in Greensboro in the Golden Gate Shopping Center by late summer or early fall, according to Garret Bedrin, who oversees acquisitions, leasing and investor relations for The Bedrin Organization.
Bedrin owns the shopping center at 2800 Golden Gate Drive, and another nine shopping centers in the Triad.
Bad Axe is leasing 5,077 square feet formerly occupied by Posh Fashion.
Renovations are expected to start soon. Bedrin said the ax throwing company fits the mold of ideal tenants at the shopping center – service-based retailers that will cater to the surrounding neighborhoods.
“We continue to source experiential based tenants who provide a fun and community based atmosphere that will flourish as some apparel-based retail goes online,” said Bedrin.
According to its website, Bad Axe touts itself as the largest ax throwing club in the world. The Greensboro location is the company’s first foray into North Carolina.
The club offers bookings for private parties and events and scheduled walk-in sessions.
Ax throwing professionals will be on-hand to teach the proper techniques and safety. Dartboard-like targets are used.
An eight-week league is also offered, with the first week being a round robin to get an understanding of the league and scoring. Participants don’t have to purchase any equipment.
While Bad Axe is strictly a club, a number of ax throwing bars have popped up throughout the Triad as of late.
Axe Club of America was slated to open in mid-to-late May at Winston Junction on the northern edge of downtown Winston-Salem.
Tap That Axe opened in April at Village Square, a four-building mall south of Interstate 40 off Lewisville-Clemmons Road in Clemmons.
